sitting here
watching
birds chase
each other
through
the clouds
cars pass by
oblivious
the sky unfolds
over the ocean
while the sun
stretches
unmoved by
an ambulance
making its way
down the street.
sitting here I
think just
enough to
stop death in
its tracks.
